I need an 8th grade level science fair project that doesnt need that much materials?

There are several different projects you could do. There is the good old paper towel experiment. One project is this: bake a few cakes, one with all the ingredients in it, one leaving out 1 ingredient, one leaving out 2 ingredients, etc. Hypothesize what will happen to each cake. You could do a Mentos and Coke experiment. Or, there is an experiment I did, where I put a grain of rice on a measured piece of paper and placed it on a stereo. I blasted different types of music and measured how far the grain of rice went.
