Are they any good this season?

i like baseball, just not enough to follow it all season. i like to watch the playoffs and the world series if my favorite team the oakland athletics make it that far and sometimes i'll even watch some games as early as september if the A's are being televised (i live about 2,000 miles from oakland in the eastern time zone). i'm looking for a die hard A's fan who can tell me just how good my team is doing this season and if they have a shot at the playoffs or maybe even the world series.
